Why soil‑first wins in Central MN

Our region’s sandy soils and tree shade can starve roots and leach nutrients—especially potash (K). Beginning with pH, phosphorus, and potassium means your seed choice, nitrogen program, and watering schedule all work together. Fewer surprises, better results.

Lawn care for real‑world yards (not perfect golf greens)

  • Sandy + shade? We’ll steer you toward fine fescues or shade‑tolerant tall turf fescue mixes, higher mowing (3–4″), and smart spoon‑feeds of K.
  • High pH or tied‑up P? We use AMS and targeted P/K applications, and (when appropriate) trial spots of elemental sulfur to unlock nutrients.
  • Overseed success with slit‑seeding rates you can actually hit and watering you can realistically keep up with.

Food plots that hold deer, not just attract them

From soil test → plot plan → blends → calendar, we map out clover, brassicas, and cereal rotations so you get early draw and late‑season groceries. Less guesswork, more daylight photos.

FAQ

Is the soil test really free?
Yes. We want you to start right—no obligation to buy.

How fast are results?
Usually 24–48 hours after we receive your sample.

I have sand and lots of shade—what seed works?
Fine fescues excel in low light; tall fescue works in partial shade and handles foot traffic. We’ll match a blend to your hours of sun.

My pH is 7.5+ and P is “low.” Can you help?
Yep. We use spoon‑fed P/KAMS‑forward N, and (when warranted) sulfur test spots to improve nutrient availability.

Do you carry what you recommend?
Yes—seed, fertilizers (including 9‑23‑30, urea, AMS), lime/sulfur, and herbicides timed to your plan.
